The Most Romantic Restaurants in New York City

With all the things that the Big Apple can offer, it is safe to say that the city is the perfect choice for couples on a vacation, whether they are dating and looking for some fun and adventure, or married and seeking some time away from their usual lifestyle.  For one, there are those view decks and observatories where you and your special someone can enjoy the spectacular views of the skylines of the city, and second are the various cruises and boat tours that traverse through the Hudson River and show its guests a different view of New York City.

And to top it all off, couples can end the day with a romantic meal in some of NYCs best and most idyllic restaurants like the ones below.

The River Café

This is one of the most famous restaurants in New York City, especially among couples – whether locals or tourists. Do know that they follow a dress code (jackets and collared shirts for men, and no sandals allowed) and it is best you follow them lest you be turned away at the door. They also serve great food, most of which are modern cuisines infused with contemporary American and international styles. But the most romantic thing about this restaurant though is its beautiful location. It is situated in the near Brooklyn Bridge, and thus while dining with your special someone, you get to enjoy the fantastic view of Manhattan’s skylines and the Statue of Liberty as well.

The House

This restaurant is located in 17th Street, and it is not hard to spot since it is one of the most charming buildings around. It is an actual carriage house built sometime in the middle of the 1800s, beautifully restored and wonderfully managed. You can take your partner in any of the three sections of the restaurant: The Chef’s Table down at the wine cellar, The Parlor Level where you can enjoy dining by the fire place, or on the Second Floor where you get to look over the Grammercy Park while you feast.

One If By Land, Two If By Sea

This restaurant is hailed by many New Yorkers as one of the most romantic restaurants in the whole city. First off, the whole ambience is just perfect whether you’re going out on your first date, or when you’re out celebrating your anniversary. The restaurant is an old carriage house, and although renovated and restored, it still holds some of that other wordly appeal and taste. The plush colored walls together with the paintings transport you to a time before, while several elegant chandeliers hang about the place. The bar with its soft light and great wines are perfect for a drink and a chat, and the food is absolutely great.
